The type of #mathematics taught today, known as calculus, is largely based on the Newtonian method called "fluxions." Most universities and colleges in Europe, America, and Africa follow this same approach. However, this method has been accepted uncritically (with a lack of criticism or consideration of whether something is right or wrong) with little questioning of its origins or how it may have altered the original nature of mathematics. Teaching calculus solely through the fluxion approach can limit students' ability to think independently and form their own perspectives. While education is meant to foster critical thinking, the way mathematics is often taught resembles indoctrination—promoting a specific set of beliefs or methods without encouraging alternative viewpoints.
