His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with Her Excellency Dr Annette Weber, European Union (EU) Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, today, Saturday, November 01, 2025, in the Bahraini capital, Manama. The meeting was held on the sidelines of His Excellency's participation in the 21st Manama Dialogue.
At the beginning of the meeting, Her Excellency Dr Weber reviewed the latest political and security developments in the Horn of Africa region and the Red Sea, the recent events in the Republic of Sudan, and the regional and international efforts being made in this context.
Both sides stressed the importance of protecting the Sudanese people from the repercussions of the current crisis and enhancing security and stability in the country, which will positively reflect on the security situation in the Horn of Africa.
Views were also exchanged on a number of issues on the international and regional arenas.
